I want to create. I want to capture my life. I want to tell my story.But I have a problem. Nothing I do turns out how I want it to. And then I just get frustrated and throw it all away. Or sometimes I will sit for hours trying to come up with some idea...and nothing will come. And then I get mad at myself for just sitting there and wasting all that precious time. {I am very obsessed with time. And very selfish...too selfish...with my time.}
Starting today I'm going to embrace imperfection.
I'm just going to create. And not think about it.
And love whatever comes out of it. Love whatever I create.I'm going to start today. And everyday.

it's friday i'm in love
Okay, so it's not really friday, but I am in love.
I found a new love....Well new LOVES actually.
URBAN OUTFITTERS and ANTIQUE SHOPS and JAPANESE FABRICS

For someone who loves vintage and antique stuff as much as I do you'd think that I would have been to an antique shop before now. But no. My first experience was a week or so ago. I went crazy! I could have spent HOURS (literally!) in that little shop. I could live in that shop. I can't wait to go back. Wait. I can't wait til I'm through with school and actually have some money to spend there.Posted by kristen at 10:14 PM 0 comments

i used to rule the world...
This past weekend my love and I went to see Coldplay. Andy bought our tickets months ago and we had been anxiously waiting. OH MY GOODNESS! They were amazing, spectacular, phenomenal!!! I can't wait til they come again so we can go see them again! We are poor college students so we could only afford the cheap seats (which were still $50+ a piece) but we still got really good seats. Well, we had the best of the cheapest seats, if that makes any sense. We decided that when we are rich we are going to go again and get front row seats. I can't wait!

Remember, remember the fifth of November...
"VoilĂ ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."
I LOVE this movie! And I LOVE V.
Now for a little history lesson....
"Remember, remember the fifth of November
The gunpowder, treason and plot,
I know of no reason
Why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.”
Guy Fawkes (1570-1606) was one of the English Roman Catholoic revolutionaries who planned to carry out the Gunpowder Plot.
Now this plot was an attempt to kill King James I of England, his family, and most of the aristocracy by blowing up the House of Parliament during the State Opening on the fifth of November in 1605. Although Fawkes was not the mastermind behind the plot, he is believed to have been placed in charge of executing the plot because of his experience in military and explosives. The Gunpowder Plot was a failed attempt and Fawkes was captured while guarding the gunpowder that night.
On January 31, 1606, those involved in the conspiracy were to be "hanged, drawn and quartered. Fawkes, though weakened by torture, cheated the executioners. When he was to be hanged until almost dead, he jumped from the gallows, so his neck broke and he died, thus avoiding the gruesome later part of this form of execution."

Here's to five years...
Yes, five years ago today Andy and I had our first kiss.
And we are still just as much in love now as we were then.

Alright, I think it is time for a random story.
Okay, so as I was walking home from work today, I came across two praying mantises...is that how you spell it? Or is it manti? Anyway..they were squashed in the road. This brought memories of elementary school flooding back into my mind and it made me laugh. Boy, I was such a weird girl. Okay, on with the story. So in the fall there were always TONS of these things crawling all over the school building. Seriously. There were millions. And for some strange reason, I loved them. I loved these disgusting-looking bugs. I remember walking to school one morning and upon arriving, saw a group of my school friends gathered together in a circle. I, being curious, approached the huddle to see what was going on. What I saw made me sick. There were two praying mantises in the middle of the group and I just happened to walk up as one kid double dared another to stomp on them. It made me sick. I couldn't believe how cruel these kids were. I cried.
That afternoon, when the bell rang and school was over, I ran home. I was so disturbed by what had happened that I gathered up some paper cups and paper towels and headed back. That night, I collected all the little praying mantises I could find and brought them home with me. Each and every one of them had a name and each and every one of them had their own little spot in my mom's flower garden.
