no saturday! come back!

Today is over and I honestly can't even tell you what I've done today. I woke up, worked out, came home, showered, and....now I'm here and it is 8:21. Thats it. What a waste, huh? Goll, I hate when I do that.
Here are just a couple patterns I drew out and finished today. Not very happy with the first one. It didn't turn out at all like I wanted it to. I definitely want to change up the colors a bit. Actually add some color. There is no color as it is. Maybe different shades of pinks and reds. You know, for Valentines Day. Maybe change the writing too...block instead of cursive... Maybe get rid of the border. I don't know. But I am going to attempt it again. :]
I need to fix the bird on the other one too. Right now, I'm going to go scrap! I can't let this day totally go to waste. After all, it is my last day of freedom for another week.

i love my sisters.

we have too much fun.
i wish sarah lived closer.
and i'll be sad when kelli leaves this summer.

i really miss him today.

He'd kill me if he knew I had uploaded this. Good thing he never has a chance to look at my blog. :] And good thing he doesn't even know how to get to my blog if he wanted to. :] In fact, I don't think he even knows I have a blog. Tricky, tricky. Anyway, this is a song by our favorite band Coldplay. The song is called "A Rush of Blood to the Head." It's amazing.

ooey gooey chocolate chip pizookie

These are sooooo yummy! If you've never had a pizookie (pizza-cookie) before you've got to try this! I had my first one a couple years ago at Firehouse and I've been addicted ever since. My sister only just found the recipe a few weeks ago. It has been our Sunday treat.
Basically, its a huge cookie that has been cooked in a pizza pan (...we just use a pie tin). It is served hot and slightly undercooked. You just add vanilla ice cream and whatever toppings you prefer (I like caramel and chocolate!) Trust me, they're to die for!

recipe found here!

photoshop and vintage photographs

So, I'm not good at photoshop at all. I just don't understand it or have the time to figure it out. I know how to darken or lighten an image, get rid of red eyes, and change the brightness and contrast but that is about it (what a waste, huh?) I came across a fabulous web page with photoshop tutorials. So, while I may not understand photoshop in the least bit, I am able to follow tutorials.
Before:After:
Still in the process of messing around with this tutorial (trying different values, etc.) but I'm having fun! I can't wait to try more! :]

sense of security

So for the past three weeks I've been terrified of losing everything on my computer. I've been terrified of something happening to my computer...anything from a hard drive crash, to a fire, to an earthquake, to theft. I seriously have not slept well because I've been so paranoid!
And how crazy is this? Just in the past two weeks I've had three friends lose all their pictures, documents, music, EVERYTHING because their hard drive crashed.
So today I went and bought an external hard drive. Now I know that they're not that dependable either but at least I'll be able to sleep a little better.

everyday should be like this...

This was a very much needed day off. And it felt sooooo good. I slept in until about 9:30 and then went to the gym for a little jog. Came home, got ready, ate Quiznos with my mom, and then spent the rest of the afternoon in my craft room. :] To put it simply, it was a fabulous day.
I thought I'd share a few pages from my art journal that I finished up today.
Well, I think I'm going to make some ringtones for my phone (I've had it for about a month and still don't have any ringtones!), embroider and watch Jay Leno to finish off this wonderful day.

embroidery fun

So this weekend I tried to embroider for the first time ever. And I LOVED it! It is so much fun! I'll definitely be doing it more often! Here's my first project:You can get these super cute patterns here.

lomo love.

So a few weeks ago I found another love. Lomography!
Mmm...I want one of those cameras sooooo bad! Right now I'm in the process of trying to figure out how they work, how much everything is going to cost (camera, film, developing, filters, blah, blah, blah), which model is best, etc.
I told myself that it would be my reward after I finish taking my boards in April.
I can't wait!
In the meantime, I guess I'll use the lomo effect that I found here.

apron love!

Yes! I made this! Cute, isn't it?
Took me long enough too.
I can't even begin to tell you how many mistakes I made, how many times I had to unpick stitches, how many times I cut the fabric wrong.
But hey, give me a break, I haven't sewn since my 8th grade sewing class. :]
So my mom found the pattern for this apron on this blog.Try it! It was pretty easy and super fun to make!

projects....oh how i love them!

Right now I'm currently working on numerous projects. In fact, I'm drowning in projects. And I can't complain because that is exactly how I like it. I wouldn't have it any other way. My newest project consists of going through some family history stuff and organizing it. My grandparents had so many photos and love letters and I'm planning on scanning them and organizing things. Honestly, it will probably be a life long project but I'm totally up for it!

I'll share a couple of my favorite photos....
How adorable are these little kids?! They are my grandpa's sisters and brothers. Elva, Tom, Leola and baby Ray. This picture was taken before my grandpa was born...so sometime before 1923.

This next picture is of my grandma, Jewell. She is beautiful. I think we would've been best friends if we would've been the same age. I miss her. A lot.
